What a year it’s been, with more ups and downs than The Big Dipper, but here at The Berkeley Apartments we’re ready to look to the year ahead. As of May 17, we were officially allowed to re-open and now it’s business as usual! So, to celebrate new beginnings, we thought we would share our ’Top 10 reasons to enjoy a self-catering holiday’ in Blackpool.
1. Staycations are here to stay
We’ve all had to make a few changes to the way we holiday and, as things are still a little limited with overseas travel, now is the perfect time for a staycation. Blackpool is so versatile, and offers the ideal getaway for friends, family or couples wanting a weekend break, or a week to unwind. The 4-star, luxury Berkeley Apartments provide flexible, self-catering accommodation that makes us a home from home, but one with a magnificent sea view, whichever apartment you choose.
2. We’re not just for summer!
One of the great things about Blackpool is that it’s open all year round. You really don’t need the weather to enjoy a weekend, or a week’s self-catering here. A long walk along the beach and promenade in the crisp, fresh air, is good for the soul. The famous Blackpool Illuminations are twinkling right through from September 2021 to January 2022 and there are numerous indoor attractions and venues available for visiting in any season.
3. Self-catering holidays give you so much flexibility
Our apartments have fully fitted kitchens with fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, utensils, dishwasher and more, giving you the option to create breakfast, lunch or dinner, however you like it and whenever you want, so you can relax and enjoy your holiday at your own pace.
4. Quiet Spots
If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Blackpool’s most famous attractions, our apartments are located in a prominent position on the quieter and elegant Queen’s Promenade, with cliff-top promenade walks and water-feature gardens literally just across the road. When you feel like something a little livelier though, you’re only a few minutes’ tram ride away from all the main places, theatres and big events.
5. Blackpool Tower
We couldn’t give you 10 reasons to visit and not mention the iconic Blackpool Tower – a true British institution. Enjoy panoramic views of Blackpool or visit the famous Tower Ballroom – you can even take afternoon tea here, with live music provided by organists.
6. Something for the whole family
Blackpool has something for everyone. Thrill seekers will most definitely want to head straight for the Pleasure Beach, if brave enough to ride The Big One or the newest coaster, ICON. If you are not quite that daring, there are plenty of other attractions, plus an amazing choice of delicious food. Fish and chips is a must! If you want a break from cooking one evening, why not try the elegant White Tower Restaurant?
7. Super-luxurious surroundings
The Berkeley Apartments offer you supreme self-catering luxury. Two of our apartments have been designed and furnished by an interior-designer, namely ‘Terrace’ (our Room 101) and Swell (204). Terrace has three fabulous bedrooms and the best views of Blackpool, all from your very own seafront balcony, the place to be when you are not indulging in a soak in the free-standing bath in the master bedroom, exploring the superbly equipped kitchen’s facilities, or admiring the state-of-the-art lighting throughout, all in air-conditioned comfort.
Swell, boasts two bedrooms (one is south-facing), sea-view windows with Juliet balconies, a luxurious leather sofa, bespoke headboards in the bedroom, a gorgeous fitted kitchen and lots of beautiful little touches and stylish furnishings.
8. Stupendous beach
We have to mention the 7 glorious miles of Blackpool beach, perfect for a long walk, building sandcastles or just sitting in a deck chair eating an ice-cream and staring out to sea. Our self-catering apartments have sea views too, so offer the perfect place from which to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset, with a coffee or glass of wine in hand.
9. Dog-friendly Blackpool
We love dogs here at The Berkeley, and you can bring your four-legged friend to one of our ground or first floor apartments to enjoy your holiday with you! There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants that will welcome dogs too and lots of places for walkies, including stretches of the beach between May 1 and September 30 and the whole beach between October 1 and May 1.
10. Art Deco splendour
Blackpool has some fabulous Art Deco architecture to admire and we’re obviously huge fans, having undergone a full refurbishment of our own glorious 1920s building, where you’ll find hints of Art Deco features throughout. We also highly recommend a visit to the Art Deco Café in Stanley Park; a unique café overlooking ornamental Italian gardens and serving delicious food. http://www.parksartdecocafe.co.uk/We could list so many more things but, if you’re tempted to try a holiday in Blackpool for the first time or are perhaps returning to the resort, we have 13 beautifully appointed, luxury self-catering sea-view apartments to choose from, providing you with the perfect base for your seaside staycation. Take a look and book your stay at The Berkeley Apartments.
